(Overview)
A weekend away should be about the people, not the maths. CrewTab brings event budgets, shared expenses, and repayments into one place, so the group’s spending is easier to follow from the first plan to the final balance.
Built around everyday moments like a beach trip, dinner with friends, or a team day, the experience starts with an event and the people taking part. Add expected costs, record who paid, and see where everyone stands.
(The challenge)
Shared plans. Scattered payments.
One person books the stay. Another covers the ride. Someone else picks up lunch. By the end of a group trip, the simple question of who owes whom can mean piecing together messages, receipts, and mental arithmetic.
CrewTab brings those details into a single event view. The product connects the budget before the event, the expenses during it, and the repayments afterwards, while keeping each person’s contribution visible.
(The experience)
From planning to settling up.
Plan with a clear budget
Estimate the event’s costs before spending starts. As expenses are added, the overview compares actual spending with the plan and shows how much of the budget remains.
Capture the shared details
Record the expense, category, and who paid. Split costs equally or enter exact shares, including expenses covered by more than one person. Search and category filters keep the list easy to navigate.
See where everyone stands
Balances show what each person owes or gets back. Suggested transfers simplify settling up, and repayments can be recorded to keep the totals current. The app tracks repayments; it does not move money.
Understand the spending
Insights bring together spending by category, each person’s share, the remaining budget, and the amount still to settle. Expenses, Balances, People, and Insights stay within reach through the event navigation.
(In context)
A weekend in Hikkaduwa.
The fictional Hikkaduwa weekend makes the flow tangible: four people, a beach house, a ride, lunch, and sunset snacks. With LKR 60,000 planned and LKR 48,000 recorded, the event shows LKR 12,000 remaining in the budget.
These figures demonstrate the product with sample data. They describe the example trip, rather than business results or measured savings.

(Visual direction)
A calm place for the numbers.
Deep green anchors the key totals, while pale mint highlights and rounded cards give the interface a friendly, approachable feel. Clear labels such as ‘Owes’ and ‘Gets back’ make balances readable without relying on colour alone.
The mobile layout gives each task a distinct view, with persistent event navigation connecting the expense list, balances, people, and insights. The same visual language carries into the project’s marketing imagery.

(Current stage)
CrewTab is a working development preview that brings budgeting, expense splits, and repayment tracking into one event-focused experience. The current preview stores event records on the device; shared event synchronisation and money transfers are outside its current scope. All people, events, and amounts shown here are fictional samples.
